My Big Brother tied the Knot!

During the wonderfully hot month of June my Big Brother married an amazing woman whom I am now so very happy to call my sister!

They made it a destination wedding~LAS VEGAS!
Now I know your probably thinking trashy Vegas, but this wedding was nothing of the sort. Far from trashy or even really Vegasy(if that's a word).

My father gave their wedding talk which made it a true family event. For the first time in years since my sisters wedding my whole family was together! It was an incredible trip for memories of all reasons but mostly because of the wonderful marriage that occurred.

They had really cute touches through out the wedding, From the almond orchard they were married in and the all white wedding party, the shot glass favors, the little flashes of style popping out of everyone's outfits.

Thankfully we all had the privilege of staying together at The Hard Rock Hotel http://www.hardrockhotel.com/
We were able to enjoy the resort to the full while there and I would stay there again.

Photographing your own brothers wedding is such a rare privilege I truly tried to soak up every moment like as my Dad got chocked up and my brother too, and how my new sister just couldn't wipe the smile off her face-They were both so supremely happy and that was awesome to see. My brother is NOT a fan of being photographed (as most men) but even he was up for the time and chance to have his photo taken with his stunning bride!

Even though we were on a serious time crunch(I'm talking like 15-20mins) between the ceremony and dinner and our daylight leaving I think we managed to get some really memorable images.

There are moments or times in life that you know will stand out in memory forever and I know that this trip and wedding is one of those to me for so very many reasons.

So thank you to Josh and Sarah for having an incredible Vegas wedding and giving the whole family an opportunity to make great memories.

Sweet Little Gavin and his loving Parents

Not long ago I had the privilege of photographing Jib during her pregnancy and then again at the birth of baby Gavin (check it out on my blog http://familiaphotography.blogspot.ca/2013/04/hes-here-welcome-baby-gavin.html )

During the last of our summer I was able to capture a few really precious moments between this adorable family. Missing summer looking at these photos, but can't you just feel the warmth!

Can't say Cedar doesn;t have beauty! Cedar by the sea has an incredible beach and so untouched, really a photographers dream for a family session.

Jib really loved this wrap that was given to her from a dear friend so she wanted to make sure to get as many photos with it as she could, plus as a family they truly believe in baby wearing it was so nice to see such a loving and connected family.

Enjoy~Familia Photography~

My husband the model...Thirty's style...to match the Mustache.

During October my husband went away for work...which I hated! but two good things came from this, one-was the chance for him to have a mustache during Movember (without having to endure the not so pleasant growing in stage), two- was the opportunity to do a stylized session with my husband.

I have always loved the style of men like Cary Grant and Clark Gable and thought my husband could really pull that look off. So then while he had the mustache and I had the time we went out for an evening.

I truly enjoyed seeing him from behind the camera, you always see people just a little different from behind the camera -especially people you really know.

It was a very cool brisk day but tried to make the most of the beautiful light and time together without our kidlets.

Happily we finished our session with my husband shaving off the mustache. Not that the mustache was all bad but I was very happy to have the man I married back haha.

We used our sweet little downtown Nanaimo as our backdrop..I think it fit quite nicely. I told Cameron(my hubby) to think of a little story to go along with the photos, he's on his way home by way of train, there are many stops along the way so he has time to ponder.
