Looking on facebook tonight I saw my cousin had started up a blog. http://sanityinthecity.com/
Her latest post really struck a cord with me. I too get afraid of posting and how it all should go. Should I put out only things incredible and amazing with words of wisdom and spouting information, or something so weird and out there that everyone wants to visit my blog? Then I really thought about it honestly my blog is for people who know me and want to know me and my work, truly you either will like me, my work, book me and follow me or you won't.
Just like my son in these photos I sometimes feel like running away, crying and giving up. Alas I get comfort and encouragement from family that doesn't even know they have done so, but as a human race isn't that what we should be doing - building up, encouraging and supporting one another.
So that's my random little plug and how I get anxiety about blogging and my business - don't fret though I won't give up and I feel blessed to work at something I love!
Have a great night!!

I am just a woman who has been given the chance to follow her passion for a career. I have two children, am married to an incredible and supportive man and live on the incredible Vancouver Island. Choosing a photographer doesn't have to be hard, choose someone whose style you love and whose personality you mesh with. By choosing me to capture your moments to look back on for years to come, you will have photographs to touch your heart and I can gaurentee we will share some laughs :)

Morrison Family all together again!
Ok I know I know my last post was a very long time ago...my excuse is that things have been so busy with work that I just haven't had time between photo sessions, editing, delivering photos and CD's and trying to enjoy the summer with my family posting just was kind of kicked to the back burner. Here I am again posting for you all to follow and enjoy.
A few weeks back I had the pleasure of capturing some family reunion photos. I've had the pleasure of knowing the majority of these family members long before I was a photographer and had a family of my own. It was truly enjoyable to see how their families have grown and how their marriages have stayed strong.
A beautiful example of how families should be - together and happy -
Enjoy this family session

Some Beautiful Knights...I know I know just had to
Beautiful, strong and funny I loved every minute of getting to know them better.
Baylie their wonderful daughter contacted me to book this family session in honor of her mom n dads 25th wedding anniversary.
Such an honor and priviledge to capture all the families love and goofiness.
Its cute to see how they are alike in many ways even with a laugh.
Congrats you two! A shinning example of loyalty and love! Happy 25th Anniversary

A day with a Beautiful Girl and her Dog ~ Lifestyle Session
Lifestyle sessions are soon becoming more and more popular...capturing people in their true element or everyday, not posed or expecting their photo to be taken.
I really hope I did my beautiful friend justice in this session...She is a true beauty inside and out!
Her lil furbaby Keisha beeners is very dear to her heart as she was her mothers dog before she passed away. I can't even think of what it would be like to not have my mother to call on for every little thing, but my friend is a gorgeously strong woman, with true passion, very loyal and ready for everything. It touched my heart for sure to see her with her mothers puppy and ring. Possessions really aren't the most important things in life unless they were owned by someone dear.
Hope you all enjoy this session!

He's here! Welcome baby Gavin
A few months back I had the privilege of getting to know Jib and Jeremy with a very quick maternity session. Right away it was evident to me the love they had and the excitement that was in the room especially in Jeremy for the birth of their son.
March 30th was her due date and I couldn't wait for that day to arrive, I think I almost was more excited than Jib was haha probably because I didn't have to do the pushing I got to just witness the miracle of birth.
Jib had first contacted me to photograph the birth of their son at home for a water birth...as usual baby's never get the memo and he had his own agenda but we were all still so happy for his arrival.
8:05am March 26th I got a text and was stoked as it said her water had broken, but no real labour yet so we had to wait...and waiting is not easy for me...finally March 27th at 3:04pm I got the text that she was in active labour. The moment my husband got home to take care of my children I rushed off to Victoria General where all the action was happening...imagine my surprise when I get there and Jib is sleeping :( sad face for me but good for her as you need as much energy as possible when about to give birth.
After milling around the halls, taking a drive, getting a snack 2:15am rolled around and it was push time!
With the assistance of her awesome midwife a few nurses and a tiny bit of help from the on call OB 3:45am Gavin was Born. Weighing in at 8lbs he was a tall order for Jib's tiny frame but she did it and she was a trooper.
Congrats you three your going to be great together!

Kelsie is...the Class of 2013! Graduation time is almost upon us again.
Sunday I had the pleasure of rounding out my day of hanging with my family by photographing Kelsie, a beautiful young graduate.
She was quiet and sweet but you can see a little spunk in her eyes.
It was such a nice afternoon getting to know her and her likes and dislikes...we discussed life in general. Kelsie may have had a few hick ups in her Grad year but she is very ready for it and so looking forward to a bright future with even a possibility of Walt Disney in it.
Kelsie I had a blast and man oh man I wish I had your eyes- So piercing and intense, that dark hair and light eyes combo is very exotic you are a knock out!
Congrats
Enjoy this sneak peek everyone :)
